Here Is Some Harengon Lore

This is great! Harengon are my preferred character species.

Hare & Rabbit r very different.  Hares r born precocial able to run minutes after birth. Rabbits big litters of hairless helpless kits.  Like the idea that a Haregon  to give birth to one large baby that can walk and talk almost from birth or several small helpless babies. From this you know what each one will grow up to be. More harelike will grow up to be independent loaners warriors rangers and more likely to be adventurers. Rabbitlike I'm more likely to be active in the community taking on farming jobs or merchant jobs or shamans. Speaking of shamans rabbits have very good perception and in mythology since they dig in the ground they were thought to carry messages from the dead. Be cool if they had spirit mediums an ancestor worship speaking with the actual ancestors.  They are also pretty universally tied with the Moon 🌙 I think it would be neat if they had the ability to perceive who was a lycanthrope and even had unarmed strikes and bites did silver damage to lycanthropes.  You could have a Haregon werewolf hunter for hire.  I think they're fae  so it would be nice if they had their own archfey member of a fey court.  I like the flavor of them being good friends with Satyrs as I feel like they have a lot of common themes.  Then just for the meme of it they should be friends with Griggs, think 🤔 that's the name those sprites with cricket legs and any other cliché jumpers  like non evil frogfolk. Rabbits symbolically have represented the Fey in general as it is the favorite form of the puka, springtime, fertility, femininity, softness, selflessness. There's a lot of Legends about rabbits sacrificing themselves as food for disguise traveling gods. I'm pretty sure this is an actual native American legend but I'm not sure to which tribe it may have just been something fictional I read that was in that style. In the myth the rabbits were the first animal and they were so much more overpowered than the other animals that the Creator said that they would be persecuted and be food for everything else. Lastly on a trivial fact the only God that is exclusively dealing with homosexual men is a Chinese rabbit God.  He has a moden temple in Taiwan.
