Hey, really bored tonight, and I thought it might be fun to help someone else develop a character, like a character that has been giving them problems. Hit me up.
I have a character and I'm pretty happy with her but I am stuck with how to progress her. Basically she is the wife of Graz'zt, didn't realise through brain washing that he was a demon prince. Found out her entire life was a lie and is now running from him. So I've started the campaign with some friends and Graz'zt keeps sending gifts and being actually very sweet (my DM is doing an amazing job of role playing), so my character very nearly gave up her soul, which is Graz'zt goal to get this woman's soul (she is an aasimar). Now after a meeting with a wizard, she's discovered that Graz'zt only wants to eat her soul.
So to my question with character development: What happens to a character when their soul is devoured by a demon prince? Do they die or transform? I don't really want her die and I don't really want her to be a mindless zombie either, but I like the idea of her giving in. I can't seem to find anything clear on what happens to a devoured soul.
I hope this is on topic for you and if it's not please disregard.
Well the traditional lore is that a soul devoured by a demon prince is permadead beyond the recovery of even divine intervention. So you probably REALLY don't want to for your character. So, we find an alternate. Does he want to EAT her soul, or to have a true possession of it, making her a thrall, but still playable, she would just be under the effects of a permanent charm spell. Think of the motivation of the demon prince. If he desires a mate he would want ABSOLUTE control of it. Very normal for an entity with a cluster B type personality disorder.
