I've asked before about simple antihero adventurers, but now, I'd like it to go a step further to help flesh out random people my party may meet.
To explain, I'm running a Wuxia campaign where the party are members of an adventuring guild. They're far from the only people in the guild: it's a world-spanning organization. I need some help for inspiration of people to outfit in other adventuring parties, either for tournament arcs, simple rivalry, or people the parties might meet at random!
Below, supply your own ideas- these could be your character concepts you don't mind other people adapting to another setting, they could be heroes, neutral, or villainous, they could be members of the guild or independent mercenaries, it could be whole parties or just a single character! All I'd like are some ideas, if you're willing to share.
Ok - for one, I'd definitely base one group on Kung-Fu Panda. You know, Crane, Tigress, Mantis, Snake, Monkey - the Furious Five, I think. I might not include the Panda. So, essentially, um, a kenku, tabaxi, formian maybe? A yuan-ti and a ... some sort of monkey guy, I dunno.
Something based on the 7 Samurai? I've not seen the movie, but there has to be something there.
Whether or not you find such antics amusing, you could also base one group on Honor Among Thieves.
My GM made a wuxia party once - staff wielder, bow wielder, sai dualwielder, open hand martial artist ... there was another, but I forget the specialty. But it wasn't really about the weapons, it was the style of narrating combat. Also I think he cheated, a lot. But anyways, the staff wielder would stand and pose on his staff, the archer would run like the wind and fire whole volleys of arrows - you know. The open hand guy was like Neo from Matrix.
I'd also consider a group made up entirely of kenku: Crow, sparrow, eagle, vulture, parrot. Or some other combination.
Edit: Not sure why I consider kenku to be so super wuxia relevant. But it seems I do =D
Blanket disclaimer: I only ever state opinion. But I can sound terribly dogmatic - so if you feel I'm trying to tell you what to think, I'm really not, I swear. I'm telling you what I think, that's all.

All glorious ideas! I might use the furious five for a tournament arc I've got planned
