Building an Assimar Paladin for Curse of Strahd and wish to give her a dramatic background with an angel ancestor (by name) which is one who could have plausibly mated with her human great-grandparent in Faerun but, is also plausibly, if weakly, tethered to the Ravenloft plane. I imagine they'd likely be a servant of Lathander, but maybe Pelor or Bahamut, as I've read all of these Gods have at least a faint presence in Ravenloft (with Lathandar being the chief in 'good' ones.) - If this is not correct, stop me here, lol.
I've run in circles trying to find a simple list of 5e or 2024 Angels and the Gods they were most closely associated with and decided to try here for help...
Can anyone point me to such a list or know of such an angel like I've described above?
No 'standard' god is canonically present in Barovia. Lathander has an aspect of him, called the Morning Lord, but does not match 100% with 'standard' Lathander. Bahamut is hinted as patron of fallen knightly order of Silver Dragons, but never explicitly cited.
I bought your .PDF re: Knightly Orders. Thinking, however, that a Paladin would have already joined an Order in Faerun... How would one then become a Knight of the Raven or Silver Dragon? (and can you even belong to two Knightly Orders?)
I can't read the preview of Exalted Deeds, it's too small, and the description doesn't mention angels so took a pass on that.
So, I guess, there are not any official angels (named) in the basic books?(I recall a description/list of Solars I found a long time ago but cannot find again... perhaps it will suffice to say her ancestor was a Solar who served Lathander?)
Ravenloft is such an unusual environment it presents some unique challenges to building a character, lol.
If desired, here are the Celestial Paragons that rule the seven layers of Heaven:
1st layer: Barachiel the Messenger rules Lunia, the Silver Heaven 2nd layer: Domiel the Mercy-Bringer rules Mercuria, the Golden Heaven 3rd layer: Erathaol the Seer rules Venya, the Pearly Heaven 4th layer: Pistis Sophia the Ascetic rules Solania, the Crystal Heaven 5th layer: Raziel the Crusader rules Mertion, the Platinum Heaven, 6th layer: Sealtiel the Defender rules Jovar, the Glittering Heaven 7th layer: Zaphkiel the Watcher rules Chronias, the Illuminated Heaven
Some of these are deities themselves but the ones which are Archons might be a good choice as a 'Celestial ancestor' for my Aasimar character. However, I can't find one associated with the Morning Lord in Ravenloft (Lathander) and did hope for that. As of now, I've simply written that her solar ancestor was a servent of Lathander and was known to her family only by her great-great-great-great-grandmother's pet name for him, "Light of my soul, my Daystar". Will keep searching for a connection to Barovia's Gods. Interesting reading - appreciate you pointing here. Cheers :)
Um, would it be at all possible for an Assimar Lathander follower, and member of the Brotherhood of the Glorious Sun, in Faerun, to have heard tell of these otherworldly knight brotherhoods in Barovia? (If so, perhaps she might inquire about them once she discerns where she has been transported to...) Thanks again for all the help. :)

For Angels, I suggest this official 3rd edition book: https://www.dmsguild.com/product/25928/Book-of-Exalted-Deeds-35
For Barovia knightly orders, I suggest this product of mine (it's PWYW): https://www.dmsguild.com/product/198694/In-Barovia-1
Thanks for the reply!

Thanks to you for your purchase!
Explaining how to join such orders would require spoiling Curse of Strahd a little bit, are you sure wanting that?
The full size preview of Exalted Deeds is here:

specific Celestials are described in Chapter 7.
No, I suppose I don't want a spoiler.
Thanks for the help.
Cheers :)

It would be very unlikely. More details require... spoilers :)
