I'm stuck between two options for a Shadar-Kai character. Would a follower of the Raven Queen lean more towards becoming a Shadow Sorcerer, or a Grave Cleric? Thanks!
A while back I created a Warlock with the Patron of The Raven Queen and it was very fun to play. Now with the Warlock changes in 2024, that would be even more fun.
But if you want the choice only between those two, it depends how you want to play and what would be more fun for you. Sorcerers get a LOT of spells, but the Clerics have a lot of strong abilities, and the updated Grave Domain seems pretty strong.
Cheers :)

Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.
Depending on what Players Handbook you are referring to, here are two outlines:
2014 PHB: Given that the Raven Queen is worshiped by the Shadar-Kai within the Shadowfwell, you would go for a Hexblade Warlock. The Hexblade description states: "You have made your pact with a mysterious entity from the Shadowfell — a force that manifests in sentient magic weapons carved from the stuff of shadow. The mighty sword Blackrazor is the most notable of these weapons, which have been spread across the multiverse over the ages. The shadowy force behind these weapons can offer power to warlocks who form pacts with it. Many hexblade warlocks create weapons that emulate those formed in the Shadowfell. Others forgo such arms, content to weave the dark magic of that plane into their spellcasting." You could twist this a bit and say that The Raven Queen is the 'Mysterious Entity' that is putting magic into these weapons and thus, she is your Patron.
2024 PHB: In her history, the Raven Queen came from the Feywild, so within the 2024 PHB, you would pick the Archfey Warlock.

Anytime man, hope whatever you choose is fun to play :)

Thank you! This is a very interesting idea. Would this be based on a previous Warlock patron template, or homebrew?
