Not the DDB side of things specifically, but the backstory stuff. PCs start out dead and catching a train to the setting. But you don't remember your past life. And but also the new species are souls reconstituted in Drustenvald as adult members of those species. Again, with no memory of a past life. How the heck are you supposed to handle this?
I do not have access to the Crooked Moon book(s), but from what you are explaining they retain no memory of their past life.
For me, I would build a character that basically has Amnesia, but can never remember anything no matter how hard they try. I would have my character lean into that. They would be trying to figure out what type of person/creature they want to be. Assuming they have knowledge of what is Good/Bad or Right/Wrong, they would then use each interaction and event to learn from.
Seems interesting, but if every single character is doing the same, it might get a little chaotic, or really lead to some good roleplay.
Cheers!

Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.

I don't see anything in there saying this is a requirement for all characters. The characters starting the campaign already being dead is presented as just one possible option, and nothing in there says they can't have memories of their past life
In fact, Amnesiac is presented as an entirely separate Background
