Is anyone familiar the "The Archive Inbetween"? It's a sort of multiversal setting that presents itself as a sort of travel-guide of planar travel.
(important note: the underlying writing is human generated, but the visualization artwork (static, video, and voice-over) on their tiktok and instagram are apparently AI generated ; I'm only looking to discuss the human-written part, not the rest; the project also has a Patreon, and a presence on youtube)
The Archive is sort of presented like the Hitchhiker's Guide, a series of travel advisories/etc. There's some hint of an actual library, most of the content seems to be about archive entries and advisories.
The Pale Lodge is an organization of adventurers, mercenaries, and bounty hunters who (among other things) go on expeditions to hunt various contracted entities out in the multiverse, for rewards. Some number of the Archive's posts are basically the Pale Lodge posting a new bounty (or group of bounties) for those who are of lower experience levels.
The Patchwork City started out as a limited pocket dimension created by 1 group escaping a disaster, but over time it has grown as more factions arrive and the pocket dimension expands. It's sort of like a trans-dimensional variation of Alpha, the "City of a Thousand Planets" (from the Valerian franchise). Some number of the Archive's posts are talking about factions or districts within the Patchwork City, and are from the Patchwork City's Travel Authority.
It all seems like it could be an interesting setting for a multiversal D&D campaign, either adapted to Planescape and Spelljammer, or as an alternative to them if used more directly.
Anyone familiar with the setting? Have thoughts about using it with D&D?
