I'm newto dnd and created a character but I need a good backstory for it I'm a dragonborn level 3 bard(colagenof lore) and level 1 warlock (lurashann is my patron) with a haunted ones heart of darkness background . Also I'm poor and have alot of skills that would do well for a spy i think like espionage. But I can think of a story for him
I'm not sure who lurashann is, a quick Google search doesn't bring anything up, but maybe your character was haunted by lurashann since birth (hence the background). They were shunned by society and became a traveller, dedicated to learning ancient secrets and sharing them (lore Bard), perhaps as a way to try to atone for their haunting? But then, in a moment of desperation, perhaps being attacked by a dangerous foe after delving too deep into an ancient ruin, Lurashann appeared before them and offered them a pact (warlock level). The dungeon-delver secret-learned idea could account for the espionage-like skills.
Do you already know your DMs campaign hook. Whenever possible its always useful to piggyback off of your DMs story, especially whenever you dont have any ideas.

"We believe that we invent symbols. The truth is that they invent us; we are their creatures, shaped by their hard, defining edges. [. . .] I did not know that then, but it is a profound mistake to believe that we must know of such things to be influenced by them, and in fact to believe so is to believe in the most debased and superstitious kind of magic. [. . .] [R]ational people know that things act of themselves or not at all."
