The Book of Those Who Passed

I've had this idea for a while now, and think that I can get it going.

Here is the pitch. We've all played D&D for a long time. Many of us have played long enough to know players that have passed. What I am proposing is a collection of character descriptions from those who remain that create a list of NPCs to be used in games far and wide. This would be a resource for DMs and a community effort to preserve the record of the honored fallen. 

So, if you have a character whose player has died, please share that character here. Then that same character may be included in the games of DMs who read this thread. What I imagine is an entry system, so somewhere down the road it will become a searchable wiki where beneath each character entry there will be a section for how they did in another campaign. Maybe it's a bad idea, maybe not. 

However, I would like to put it out there as a possibility. 

My ask for this thread is to have some people share their fallen friend's characters and to hear feedback on the idea.
