have you ever wanted to be the soldier on the field, make modern weapons, never have to use Concentration on Hunters mark.
well know you can & more, as Pioneer in your new subclass, here is a few cliff notes: at Lv.1 sepoy enlisted allowing for Gunner & Martial Weapons as optional origin Feats.
LV.3 Combat Engineer grants you 4 Combat plans much like Artificer plans some of this is the same & adds your ranger spells as options, this grants the option to make gun using a list of chosen spells for the plans to make guns, rifles & explosives.
you can use 6 of you combat plan to add & use one 1d6 superiority dice.
the key title Expert Sapper is where you gain your major trait & characteristics.
at key level you gain more Combat plans example Tactical Engineer, Expert Engineer & a level 6 spell casting, then at level 20 your final cap stone 2 level 8 spells unique to your class Soul's Treasure Lost & Restore Soul's Treasure with once a Session use.
At least they do now, with the Tasha's Cauldron of Everything overhaul that the class got in the form of their new optional features, that mostly substitute the previous ones that existed in the PHB. It's just better. Rangers have been held in low regard since the release of the game, so they are the only class that got such a complete set of optional features. It's basically a rewrite of the class
