My group really enjoys trying out the playtest material from UnEarthed Arcana, so when the Mystic class was released it really intrigued me, which lead to me making a character. I had been sitting on the idea of a character with a drug addiction for a while ,and since I didn't feel like the character was one for the work that went into becoming a Mystic, I made him mentally tortured as a child to the point it awoke his innate abilities. However, his mind was so damaged afterward he had no control and he ended up killing his younger sister. He would occasionally break down (I used the rules for madness) if he didn't take a morphine-based drug that was injected into his bloodstream. Eventually, the DM had the party stop a child-trafficking ring, ran by the man who had experimented on my character, that was trying to forcably awaken more Mystics.

Reads like an X-Files episode which gets my thumbs-up!
