I am starting up a campaign set in Zendikar. Pre-Battle for Zendikar. The PC's will be traveling the world as the Eldrazi wake, seeing more and more Eldrazi horrors on their quest. They will end up in the Battle For Zendikar at the culmination of their campaign.
I have a question for those of you familiar with Zendikar.
How prevalent is sea travel, and which ports would players be able to seek passage from? From what I have been able to read (Planeshift articles, AoMTG-Zendikar), there are several port cities. Seagate and Nimana would be the two largest.
What other cities would have ports that players could reach? The PCs are currently on Akoum traveling to meet the Goma Fada from Affa.
I know the standard answer: make it up. I was just wondering if anyone had read of some examples from the lore or MTG fiction.
So I am not a MTG expert but most of the planes in the game don't get fleshed out a whole lot and the books can very considerably in quality.
I did find a good site that goes into some detail on Zendikar. One of the main reasons a map would be problematic on that plane is due to something called the Roil. This is an effect which constantly reshapes the land of that world. I posted the link below. It should provide all the detail you need to make decisions about what you want to do with your campaign.
Oh, I am familiar with the Roil. I have seen the Archive trap info, as well as the original MTG Zendikar articles.
I was just wondering if anyone else had found any information about Inter-Continental travel in official lore. So far, I've only been able to find small snippets with a couple of ports, and mentions that sea travel is perilous.
I guess my PC's will be walking a while to one of the few ports they can find. Assuming they don't find some form of air travel.
