So one of my players has a compass. The story behind this compass is that her father was first mate on a ship that was mutiny on the ship. One of the main reason that there was a mutiny was because of this compass. So here is the background on thus compass: Its cursed if anyone talks or wants to take the compass for gain will be curse the person. Only the owner (family owned) can use it's power. So her brother (human)is behind all this he wants the compass, he believes it belongs to him and knows of the power. The father on the other hand knows what the power of the compass is and doesn't tell my player (halfling) what it is but gives it to her because he know she is the one who needs to protect it from her brother.
Here is the question what magical properties should this compass hold?
The curse is illness and a blimpish like a black mark.
