Hey, I don’t know how deeply into character folks get, but I’m looking for ideas in regards to various slang terms, sayings, and/or aphorisms that can be used in-universe. For example, my homebrew pantheon features a lawful good god of fire, courage, valor, and righteous combat. One aphorism if the faithful is “from spark to flame,” meaning that actions need not always be grandiose and world-shaking; sometimes a simple, small act of courage can be the spark that leads to far greater things.
When characters from or familiar with the Feywild greet each other in my game, they say "I see you as you are." It comes from the fact that the archfey of the high court can see through all glamours and so they see each other and all fey creatures for what they actually are rather than what they pretend to be.
Many paladin orders and priesthoods have a variation of the an aphorism “Mercy To The Wolf Is Cruelty To The Sheep," or "Kindness For The Tyrant Is Injustice For The Subjects."
Numerous are the tales where cruel and malevolent beings throw themselves upon the mercy of a righteous warrior, taking advantage of this reprieve only for the unrepentant aggressor to eventually inflict further suffering upon the innocent. This saying reminds the faithful that there are times where the best means of bringing about justice is bring someone’s wickedness to a permanent end; that the unrepentantly cruel must be struck down before they cause more suffering.
Praise the Sun: (v) While rude to utter while in the company of those of divine faith, refers to the single-minded pursuit of an unusual line of thought or course of action. In other words, insanity. Ex: “Why would he do something so odd?” “He's praising the sun.”

Other ideas? Race-specific? Religion-specific?
And no racial slurs, please. Thanks!
