I know this is a TAD early, what with the book coming out in June, but I was wondering something about Theron. What with Theron being Ancient Greek a la Xena or Hercules: The Legendary Journeys...would it be possible to play as a dwarf warrior? Could I play as a Planeswalker or a stranded Starjammer Dwarf adventurer who gets stuck on Theros who ends up in Argos and becomes a warrior like the Doom Slayer or Gotrek Gurnison?
Or should I perhaps stick with Theros based characters like Returned or Satyrs or humans from one of the Polis?

In the end that depends on your DM, but the overwhelming majority of Magic planes do not have dwarves, Theros is among the planes that does not have dwarves, and Planeswalkers seem a tad to powerful for a player character to start out as.
Based on the creatures in Theros, the races that will be part of the source will be Humans, Leonins, Centaurs, Minotaurs, maybe Merfolk, and Satyrs. Based on the blurb and advertisement I think there will be various "gifts from gods" that act as subraces (which, if true, could make a significant number of subraces available).

Thanks for the reply! Bit of a shame, I enjoy playing dwarf characters. However I do like the appeal of the "Returned" characters, sentient zombies like WoW's Forsaken who are seeking their own identity in the world and have Gold masks to hide their deformed faces. Here's hoping they get stats and racials a player could use to make a character with.
