Is it possible for a kalashtar to remove the rogue spirit from its mind, either through divine intervention or interplanar disturbances? If so, would the kalashtar just become, like, a human or elf or something basic like that?
The way I interpret kalashtar is the form and spirit are one and the same. An amalgamation of beings not a possession. Removing the spirit or attempting to would essentially be like cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Nothing comes to mind of them being separated, but I'd have to admit I've done no research on the topic.
Kalashtar are genetically bound to their quori spirit. also, it isn't always in their mind, they don't just communicate with it willy-nilly. The bond to the quori spirit also prevents the kalashtar from dreaming because they "dream" of the quori's memories and influence instead. There isn't a way to remove the quori spirit, because doing so would just kill the kalashtar due to being intrinsically and irrevocably linked.
but if somehow you decided to handwave that way, the kalashtar would become a normal human because all kalashtar used to be humans.
