There’s a part of the Frostmaiden story where the players can tell a giant they are after a dragon and the giant lets them go. I looked into the story of dragons vs giants and I really enjoyed it. As I am always encouraging my players that combat is not ALWAYS the answer I was wondering if anyone has ever seen a list of these natural enemies OR even a natural predators list to see which creatures have a problem with other creatures. I think this is rewarding for players who have done their homework. In Lieu of that we could build the list together.
#1. Giants vs Dragons. Giants were the original apex predator until dragons showed up. Giants eventually got fed up and took on the dragons and lost. Some say this led to the giants and their current power structure.
Devils vs. Demons are well known. (Hells vs. Abyss)
In some lore, Aboleth and Illithid hate each other for different reasons but largely based around that they don't know what the other is. Aboleth have perfect memory transferred down through generations but have no memory of the arrival/creation of the Illithid. Some Illithid revere a deity of memory (more like a small sect of Illithid cultists and the known majority revere no deities) and see Aboleth as a perversion of the deity.

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
That's the one that was rattling around in my brain and I couldn't make it come out.

Modrons are generally portrayed as not having enough of a sense of individuality to really have emotional responses. Though slaad definitely hate modrons.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
In a stream, it was determined that frogs and wolves must be natural enemies (because a tribe of Bullywugs lead by an awakened Giant Toad were forced from their home by a pack of Wolves lead by a fiend-powered wolf tasked with using the pack to bring food to a pact-sworn Hill Giant - so... really zip to do with natural enemies, but try telling that to those adventurers).

None of the genies get along with the other types, though Djinn and Marids tolerate each other.
