I'm not so deep into D&D lore that I know what makes this NPC special and I'm wondering if anyone can help fill me in.
From what I can tell, the "Spellplague" incident is listed in 1385 by the Sword Coast Adventure Guide. Based on his story in Tomb of Annihilation, this is when Cimber loses his family. I don't see a date in the Tomb of Annihilation sourcebook, but previous Adventure League season modules have put the date as late as 149x. The Ring of Winter keeps Artus from aging, but after 100 years, if his (human?) family survived the spellplague they'd almost certainly be dead anyway.

If Cimber comes up during the game, is he insane?
Insanity is always an option.

Artus's wife, Alisandra, is also one of Ubtao's barae. She is immortal, too.
