Hello fine folks! There's about a billion actual play streams out there so I'm gonna distill this to the salient points of why you might enjoy ours.
The setting and story are completely homebrew; the bulk of the game is set in the Skybound Lands, a set of floating continents suspended 4 miles above the ocean on a magical grid of energy called the Lattice. It's pretty neat and adds a lot of wacky story and mechanical complications.
The world experienced a near-apocalyptic event 23 years prior to the start of the campaign whose ramifications are still rippling.
Warforged take a major role in the story as part of a German-inspired industrial nation. Other important countries are a Dune-inspired desert continent where clerical magic is banned, a feudal Japan-inspired fivefold monarchy of elves, a largely human-populated archipelago where it's almost always raining, and a smattering of small islands where sky pirates live.
I (the DM) tend to lean into RP and rule-of-fun more heavily than most DMs, but all of us (myself and the four players) know the PHB basically cover-to-cover.
Our combats move pretty quick and I'm mostly focused on having fights that I think showcase a cool monster/terrain or move the story in an interesting way. We're not here to spend three hours fighting goblins over and over.
We use the Gritty Realism variant with a few very small tweaks to make QoL a little better for casters.
Aside from the Faerun pantheon, the world has a homebrew set of deities called the Powers That Be with a group of saints affiliated with them. The conflict between the two churches is central to the plot, and our party is made up of adherents to both faiths.
We are very much a "yes, and" kind of party and generally work to build each other up and, most importantly, entertain ourselves and -- we hope -- anyone watching. We have a lot of fun and tend to be a bit less strict or uptight about things when it makes it more fun.
Every single named location on the world map has a number of secrets tied to it that are relevant to the overall plot as well as the individual character backstories. The players are constantly unraveling threads and uncovering new secrets every session, slowly piecing together the big picture about what really happened in the world's past.
I tend to use a lot of third-party monsters because, as 5e veterans, most of our party have the Monster Manual memorized at this point. Leads to lots of fun and wacky combat encounters.
Do any of these things sound fun to you?
Warforged fighting for equal rights
Theological conflicts
Characters and plot threads based on obscure prog metal albums
A world of flying continents
Airship pirates
Strange voices and funny accents, often forced to speak to themselves
A plant-based warforged PC who essentially has Calcifer as a companion
A rogue PC who has a list of specific people he wants to murder
A cleric PC who used to be in a major position of power and is now on the run
Meat
Sand worms
Political intrigue and secrets to unravel
Beautiful character art for each PC
Episodes titled with lyrics from Rush songs
If so, check out our streams every Wednesday night around 7 PST (8ish tonight)! Much appreciated.
And finally, the only rule we have in our chat/comments is that insulting the players is frowned upon, but insulting the DM is encouraged. Show me what you got.
