40 years ago I came across a monster that I wanted to update to 5e for my campaign. I believe it was called a Wintoge. If memory serves it was large black horse with wings and blue eyes. I think it was part of the melnibonian mythos before tsr found out chaosium owned the rights. Ring any bells?

I don't know what it is, but was it in the Deities and Demigods book when TSR printed Cthulhu and Elric stuff in the books and then had to remove them in later printings? There was one called the Nihrain Horse in that book.

Yes I believe so but the only copies I can find that have that stuff are from after they temporarily reached an agreement and though they have the nihrain horse they no longer have the wintoge. Though it might possibly have been crossed over from Arduin or another game system? IDK

Pretty sure you're correct. Because Nihrain is all I can find too. Even resorted to googling the "Wintore" name - and something should come up.

But zilch. So either that or the OP has the name incorrect.
