As Keen starts to wander the castle searching for the source of this ever present feeling of dread, the rest try to figure out if the ancient Penelope they have found is really the Half-Pint they know. Between Alyndra casting a clever sending, some pointed questions, a zone of truth and a dispel magic, the group quickly realize this figure is not really their friend. Meanwhile down the decrepit staircase into the main hall, Keen can see an outdoor garden encased in glass in a courtyard. The dark feeling is coming from that place, and describing the area through the telepathic bond lets Alyndra use her clairvoyance to see inside. It’s a beautiful garden but everything is coated in ice, as if flash frozen. Some indistinct presence slams up against the glass, watching the Eladrin as he backs away.
Before the creature pretending to be Penelope can do anything, Alyndra casts banishment giving everyone a minute to prepare and for Keen to return. When the banish ends, the creature explodes into a swarm of dreadful moths that attack and try to envelope anyone they can. While covering anyone they are almost invisible, and they seem to be able to reach into the Heroes minds to read their thoughts and feelings to use as emotional weapons. As the moths are destroyed, suspicion turns on the baby, and Alyndra can see there is illusion magic all around the child.
Alyndra and Orkira continue to examine the baby as the rest head downstairs to check on the door. They find a frostbitten dwarf named Therin, who says he got lost in the snowstorm while fishing and is looking for shelter despite being told that this castle is a terrible place. While warming up near the fire he explains that they are on the Spine of the World, far to the north near Icewind Dale, and the storm has been going on for months.
Upstairs as Alyndra tries to cast identify on the baby it suddenly explodes into more moths, covering Alyndra and creating illusions; first of Pelor than of dozens of tiny dragonborn, all begging Orkira not to be destroyed and blaming her for their deaths. Once again a fight against the swarm breaks out, and the moths try to trick Keen by turning into Furion, then look like Avren for Alyndra, and then Briv’s wife. Everyone fights the horrific illusions to destroy the second group of moths. Back downstairs Orkira casts zone of truth on Therin to question his story, discovering he’s wracked with guilt as he ate the corpses of his friends when he was starving in the blizzard, but otherwise appears to be no danger to the group.
And then he reveals they are not really in Icewind Dale, they are actually trapped in Ravenloft.

Sadly yes, but I promise we are working on closing out the story. And Alyndra, Penelope, and Orkira will be joining Silver and Steel, so Jen and Hope (and I) will still be on an ongoing livestream!

Awwww..... Why was it cancelled? I started watching from the first episodes and literally just caught up last week! Bummed, I really enjoyed the whole cast of the show.
Guess I will just have to start catching up on Silver and Steel now.
