Here's a thought. The Water Walk spell allows you to, "...move across any liquid surface--such as water... as if it were harmless solid ground..." and the Control Water spell can "If you choose an area in a large body of water, you instead create a 20-foot tall wave that travels from one side of the area to the other and then crashes down. Any Huge or smaller vehicles in the wave's path are carried with it to the other side. Any Huge or smaller vehicles struck by the wave have a 25 percent chance of capsizing."
Ergo, is it possible to cast Water Walk on oneself, and then cast the flood feature of Control Water and ride a massive wave across the ocean, quite literally turning the tides of a naval battle AtLA style?
Speaking of, are there other clever applications for Water Walk? Could the spell Tidal Wave do the same? Could the Redirect Flow feature of Control Water form a makeshift elevator if you point it upwards? Ride or escape a Watery Sphere? I don't think this would work, but imagine walking on the side of a Wall of Water, or forming a bridge with it.
You could use it escape a dangerous encounter, then blast the monsters with cantrips and ranged weapons.

Control Water only affects water inside a 100ft cube, so that limits how far you can ride the wave.
But in a naval battle, sending a group of players on a boarding party.... I love this idea.
