Quote from dguyellison >> Rogues can still hide after using steady aim, correct? If so, Rogues should put themselves at distance from melee, attack with a ranged weapon using steady aim, then hide after taking the shot. I’ve heard some DMs claim a character has to have movement left to hide, but I don’t think that’s correct.

For a Rogue, either Hide or Steady Aim require a Bonus Action, so you can't generally do both in the same turn.
