So, I feel stuck. I want to level up (stuck at lvl 1 rn) or as it says on D&D gain xp for my toons. But. How?
Follow up question. Where does the Xp or how is it Calculated?
Thanks for the replies ahead of time also.

To manage XP, on the web site click on the MANAGE button of your character, and then select "Manage Experience" from the sidebar that appears.
The DM awards XP based on your achievements during the game.
So Online "xp" is freely given? we do not have to earn it on this site?
I am going to have a first in person game coming up and the DM is the one who is going to be giving the xp?
Correct?

XP is earning while playing the game (online orcface to face). The monsters you defeat and the other challenges that are overcome result in your characters being award XP. The DM will totally this up and (usually at the end of the session) tell 5he players how much XP they have earned. When they reach a given threshold they advance a level.(This may be delayed to the next long rest)
Many DMs do not use XP at all when you reach a certain point in the story they will just say you can level up. This is called milestone levelling and can be selected in the first page of the dndbeyond character builder.

As you're on Dndbeyond > Characters >View > than on your profile on the top left shows your name and the "viewed" character
Under that. there's a thing bar, that's the xp bar (The questioned "Online XP")
Thank you for the helpful info. I think I saw in the players book a table with when the total XP earned lets up level up. anyways.
Very nice info I appreciate It. Thank yall.

There's no such thing as "online XP", Experience Points are not earned on this site and have no meaning outside of the actual game you're playing with your group.

You could ask your DM to use Milestone if you're having too much trouble.
