thats a pretty good idea, I would figure every thing would drop meat but it should depend on how you kill the monster. Like if you kill it with acid then you know theres no meat drops lol
I completely feel your ideas. I would assume certain beasts would have special physical limitations or require special harvesting. Taking into consideration the un-mature basilisk that has a special enzyme in their stomach that turns stone to flesh. Or maybe there is meat on the Cockatrice that is toxic. Or what animals have diseases or parasites that you have to contend with. Certain monsters prefer their meat rancid which would cause their bodies to be living disease factories. Just common sense things you could add flavor into your adventure. Or how about seasonings that are harvested to make certain meat non-lethal to certain races. Or look into the biology of the race you are playing and determine what kind of food prep is required in their culture can give you hints about their allergies.
