If your at the end of the campaign and have a budding relationship with a party member, go with them. If the campaign has time left, use your hand in marriage to form an alliance with a neighbouring kingdom.

"Taking" another party members character might be uncomfortable, unless you're all very on board with the idea.
If it's consensual, then yeah go with the above answers.
