The order for edritch invocations depends on your build, play style and campaign.
To answer the title question, devil's sight can used mainly as a source of improved darkvision. If you don't have darkvision from your race it is a great option. Most commonly it is combined with the darkness spell in such circumstances you need to be very careful not to upset the rest of the group. Attacking a creature while you and your opponent is a straight roll (assumming you know where they are) but you wont be able to get advantage in other ways (e.g. a rogue hiding as a bonus action, or a barbarian going reckless this normally affects the party mor than the enemy. Your spell caster friends will also be limited what they can do if either they or the enemy is in darkness as most spells require sight. It can be a powerful combination but you need the rest of the party on board and realise the tactic can't be used in every circumstance. I am not a fan of one with shadows not being able to move or take actions is a huge limitation, for an ambush you might get your first attack at advantage, but you are likely able to do that via hiding anyway, if you want to observe what goes on secretly you have to get into the room before you can turn invisible.
Regarding some of the others on your lists. Agonizing blast is a must for non hexblade (and a very good option to give melee hexblades a decent ranged attack) Mask of many faces is build and campaign dependent, it is of little use in combat but very useful if the campaign is all about spying and obtaining information. If your character is the type who goes into a shop casts charm person in order to get the best discount you can then walks out mask of many faces is great, the shopkeeper is hostile to a "face" it will never see again, and you wont match the description given to the guard. Repelling blast is good especially if you have a AoEs you can push them into (spike growth works really well for this but unless you are a dao genie warlock you would rely on others to cast this).
Some of the best invocations are those tied to your pact, but you haven't mentioned them here.
my pact is of the chain, but i don’t really understand how many of those related actions work. I had previously considered Pact of the Tome, but most of their choices were ranked subpar

Don’t base your decisions upon other people’s rankings. I personally love pact of the tome and would take it over pact of the chain any day of the week. Play what you enjoy not what other people is ‘best’
I agree that you should pick options that you enjoy, but it can also be disappointing ot take an option that sounds exciting but you then find you rarely use, or doesn't do what you think it does.
To compare the pacts you need to consider them along with the invocations you are likely to take. Pact of the tome by itself can give you access to find familiar but the standard find familiar is significantly weaker than pact of the chain. It can also give you access to shillegagh or booming blade which will give you some options in melee combat but nothing like those of a hexblade. The main benefit of tome is tthe abilty to cast ritual spells but this requires the book of ancient secrets invocation (I would regard this a must for tomelocks). Tomelocks can be a bit of a let down if there is also a wizard in the party because they will also want any ritual spells you find to put into their spell book but if you are the only ritual caster in the party and the DM is on board to give you access to a decent number of ritual spells on top of the two you get at the start you will be a great boon to the party.
Regarding how the pact choice and invocations work together, when you choose you invocations you are limited to the following options:
Those that either have no minimum level or have a minimum level no higher than your warlock level
those that either have no pact restriction or are resticted to the pact you have taken.
So you can only take Book of Ancient Secrets if you have takes the Tome Pact, you can only take far scribe once you reach level 5 and then only if you are pact of the tome. An option like cloak of flies requires you to be level 5 but you can take it regardless of tyour choice of pact.
Thank you for your feedback. I see your logic. The truth is ive sadly only gotten to play part of one campaign before they stopped playing, so i am still very new to this.
Again, campaign dependent and such, but to me, Pact of the Chain meant Voice of the Chain Master was a must have. Also a big fan of Gif of the Ever Living Ones, if you think you'll be healing or resting for Hit Dice frequently.
Play what tickles your fancy. I like Chain, as I see a lot of potential in the improved familiar and Voice, making it the ultimate scout. Delivering some Touch range spells from it is an extra boon. I suggest Imp, as it's the most versatile, IMO. Good speeds, flight, invisibility and shapeshifting on demand. Creative use of these skills using it as a scout can gather you a lot of info at minimal risk.

I very much see why you chose the invitations you did.…
l you have three combat base blasting choices
- agonizing
- repelling
- slowing with “lance”
and three scouting heisting assassinating interactive choices
- mask
- Very limited invisibility with “shadows”
- devils sight
you could of course argue that the last three could also be used in combat of course tactically, especially devils sight…
Your logic is very good and you’re most definitely on the right track. The more you play with your warlock and the more situations you’re in, depending on the kind of campaign you’re in, will paint the choices more clearly. Any advice people give you on this site is, just like they all have said, dependent on their own experiences and the campaign situation. Great job so far!

For more detail I would recommend these videos: Pre level 5 and level 5 +
Thank you. I’ll take a look at the videoes.
