Animals are physically capable of having ASIs. Sure.

I'm probably laughing.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
ASIs effect your stats, taking your 2 int up to 4 or 6 overtime. This affects your stats, and if i'm right your stats change whilst shape changed, its the same thing like wild shape. You don't just gain better stats.

"Anyone can smith at the cosmic anvil, yet only I can forge a weapon as good as thee."
are you asking if you could shape change into a snake with four or five ASI to redistribute and then catch a falling portcullis with 20 str, ratcheting it back up like a car jack in a cartoon? well, it's a spell-level 9 transformation and those should be powerful. however, no, your ASI wouldn't be redistributed. that seems obvious by the line telling you to "retain your ... Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma" during the change.
or are you asking if any ASI previously applied to str/dex/con would shine through? again no: those are already permanently applied to your statistics which have been "replaced by the statistics of the chosen creature." just enjoy being a dragon for a while.

unhappy at the way in which we lost individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
tell them you don't like features disappeared quietly in the night: providefeedback!
Yes, but ASI boosts your stats, which change when you shapechange. They arent a passive buff, they are a permanant thing that happens once. Not like a Headband of intelligence more like a Tome of Leadership and Influence

cha/int/wis continue to be boosted by ASI of the past. you don't lose this class feature.
str/dex/con are "replaced by the statistics of the chosen creature." the class feature is still there under the layers of blubber and scale you've piled on, but adjusted by more specific verbiage in the spell. remember that the 5E ruleset was an attempt to simplify many things (such as this). but also remember that the rule of cool is the final arbiter at many tables. have you tried applying flattery and/or chocolate to your rules inquiry?

When you get an ASI at level up you make your choice (raise stats or feat) then it is done. Finished. Permanent. So if at level 4 you raised your INT to 18 and to 20 at level 8, they are done with. When you shape change you don’t get to boost your new forms stats. What you had prior to shape changing gets replaced except the INT, WIS, CHA which remains.
I see a lot of really creative homebrewed answers here.
But the RAW answer is Yes. You keep your ASI.
The spell specifically says you keep your class and racial features. ASIs are exactly that. Creatures are physically capable of ASIs. And being physically capable of using the feature is the only other requirement.
You retain the benefit of any features from your class, race, or other source and can use them, provided that your new form is physically capable of doing so.
So RAW: Yes. Keep your ASI.
For the answer to be No, you'd need to explain how one of either of these true:
ASI isn't a feature from race or class. (But it is)
The new form is physically incapable of having an ASI. (But it is)

Yes, you keep your ASI but unless you used it on one of your soft stats that ability score is then replaced by the ability score of whatever creature you shifted into.

So would this apply to the Ability Score Improvement?

An ASI changes your stats, yes. But if remeber a tiny detail. Shapechange changes your stats to the creature stats. It is a simple as that.
