So my friends and I are playing a one shot and we rolled to determine level and got 11.
Im planning to play a Tiefling eldritch knight/hexblade warlock. With 7 levels in fighter and 3 in warlock.
Now I have a few questions.
1) what bloodline would be best for my Tiefling. I'm guessing one that boosts int/dex or con since I can use charisma for my attacks thanks to hexblade so I don't need strength much.
2) would 1 level of sorcerer be good for my 11th level? If so what origin works best? If not then what should my final level be?
I'd say the best Tiefling lineage for a build like this would probably be Levistus. Ray of Frost is a great cantrip to nab for someone focused on Melee combat. Armor of Agathys is great in a similar way... it replaces Hellish Rebuke, and in general is an improvement... on top of dealing damage, it also grants temp HP. It also deals guaranteed 10 damage if anyone hits you, and doesn't cost your reaction to do so. The only downside is that you have to spend an action to cast it ahead of time, but luckily it's got an hour duration so you can pretty safely cast it right before heading into a dangerous location and keep it active. There's even a chance for it to trigger multiple times if your temp HP isn't completely lost.
As to the question of a Sorcerer subclass... I don't think you'll get much out of any of them compared to just taking another level in your other classes to nab an ASI or feat, but of the Sorcerer subclasses, I'd say you could either go for Storm Sorcerer, which gives you some basic, but valuable movement options any time you cast a leveled spell. Alternatively, Shadow Sorcerer has some potential to be useful for the "Strength of the Grave" feature, which gives you a possibility to stay up after getting knocked to Zero. You also boost your darkvision, although you miss out on the ability to cast darkness with Sorcery points and see through it since, y'know... you won't have sorcery points. But you do learn darkness for free, so that's something. If you take Devil's Sight then it's not too big of a difference... if you do go with Levistus as your Tiefling subrace you'll get one free casting of Darkness per day, on top of the ability to cast it with spell slots. You can drop a darkness spell on yourself and basically get free advantage on melee attacks the whole time.
My impression is that Eldritch Knight + Hexblade don't mix well. Why? Well, the main advantage of the hexblade is that you can use your char instead of your str or dex to hit. But eldritch Knight doesn't need char at all. So it's a waste. On the other hand the advantage of the Eldritch Knight is that he can use magic as a fighter without having to multiclass. But the hexblade is already a frontliner that has magic. So I don't see any advantage to mixing those two subclasses. In fact, that character is worse than a single class of either.
Regarding the level in sorcerer, that is always good for a warlock. I'm not a big fan of multiclasses, but that one in particular is better than either of the two (warlock or sorcerer) in single class. Of course, if your primary class is warlock (hexblade in your case) put at least 2 levels of sorc to get font of magic. And I would advise you 3 levels for metamagic. Quickened Spell's synergy with Eldritch blast is brutal. With font of magic you can make the coffelock which is the best multiclass in the game. Of course, be careful because you can never have more Sorcery Points than your level allows, so if you only have 2 or 3 levels in sorcerer, you must establish very well the order in which you convert your warlock spells into sorcery points, and these in spell slots. But it can be done. However, I think coffelock works best with sorc as the main class. But it can also be done the other way around, and it is also tremendously effective. For example, as in your case, having a warlock that can cast Shield for almost no cost is incredibly optimal.
Personally, I like the EK/Bladesinger mix. If you can get your In high enough without sacrificing your Dex on the EK, you can enter Bladesong and get a nice bonus to your AC. That plus exposure to ALL the Wizard spells for your level isn't too shabby a trade. Dueling fighting style and a good Rapier will do decent enough damage and again, a lot of spells and with the Wizard dip, a good number of spell slots to burn, too.
As pointed out above, the Warlock/Sorcerer combo is nasty, too, as you can always quicken an EB and if you pick the invocation for it and have high Cha, EB becomes a very nice damage dealer. For long ranged fights, you can double it up. Super versatile.

Too many ingredients in that mix.
