I have a player thats going to die soon and become an adult gold dragon. Would like some tips on going about making it. Would you just use the stats from monster manual or homebrew one for them and allow them access certain spells since they were a spell caster? How should I go about this?
Technically a player can run off of a monster stat block, but it's going to be so unbalanced it's not even funny. Honestly, this is more the point where that character rides off into the sunset and the player rolls up a new sheet.
What level is the party? An adult gold dragon is CR17. The only mechanical means in the game to permanently turn into an Adult Gold Dragon is to be True Polymorphed, and that's the straight statblock, without anything additional added to it.
If it's that late in the game, all of the characters are practically demigods, so I don't see a problem with the character being a dragon for the last adventure. But if the party's any lower than L18, I think the above comment is correct about the character having a ride off into the sunset.

Covering for Sposta: Put the game on hold, and get them to a hospital.

Lol hospital might not be the best idea might scare the living daylights out of the other patients even if they don't use frightful presence. Somewhere private might be better.
