So, I acquired this really dope +3 shield that I am leaning into as a central part of my character's persona while still being mechanically legit, but also flavorful. For example, when casting a cleric spell that requires a non-valued material component, the holy symbol emblazoned upon it "catches the twilight in such a way that makes it shimmer..."
While it is probably too late in game to invest in a feat like Shield Master, I still want to tweak the heckfire out of the shield itself by casting object-based spells on it for added shenanigans. There are obvious spells like Light, Darkness, Magic Mouth, and Continual Flame, each of which also add valuable functionality. But, wondering if there might be other official spells (or Artificer tricks) that can make the shield extra spiffy.
Note, even if doesn't apply to a shield, but perhaps something else like a coin or weapon or chicken leg, would love to hear your thoughts.
Most Artificer things affect nonmagical objects (your +3 Shield is very magical already). This would either fall under the purview of flavoring spells as if they were on /affecting / came from your shield; or homebrew. If the first, you can go wild with descriptions to get the feel you want. If the second, you should ask your DM.

I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?
There's not much you can cast on the shield itself, but you can flavour a ton of spells as if they were related to the shield.
E.g.
Guiding Bolt - The shield begins to sparkle then glow brighter and brighter, you carefully angle it towards the enemy deflecting the beam of star light directly into their eyes.
Spirit Guardians - You hurl your shield in an arc bouncing it off of the approaching enemy.
Sanctuary/Shield of Faith - You hold your shield over the target and whisper a command causing it to hover in place protecting them.
Flame Strike - You hurl your shield at the feet of the enemy and with a sudden flash it bursts into a pillar of light and flame before flying back to your hand.
Guardian of Faith/Summon Celestial - You tap the painted [lion / knight / other heraldry creature] on your shield and with a shimmer of starlight an ethereal version of the creature steps out of the shield growing in size until it becomes a full sized creature.
Control Water - You dip your shield into the water and give a mighty heave, the symbols around its edge glow with magic and a wave radiates out from it ....
Scrying - You polish the front of your shield to a perfect mirrored surface, the slide your finger across it will mumbling magic words and suddenly the face shifts revealing a scene ....
etc.... etc...
