I'm working on theory crafting a lightning vessel barb that used galvanized claws, both subclass and item from Steindharts Guide to the Eldritch Hunt player pack. My DnD group loves using any and all content, official and homebrewed, especially when new stuff gets added to DnDBeyond. My DM loves to let us make our own custom items to start with that evolve as the campaign goes on. Of course we present those items to the DM for adjustment and approval. As a huge Bloodborne and Steindharts fan, I have been wanting to dip into this book, and a "failed test subject" lightning vessel barb is the path that I am going. The galvanized claw is going to be the blueprint for my custom item due to character themes, though it may end up being nerfed to start the campaing, and then evolve to full potential and maybe beyond.
My current theory crafting conundrum comes from trying see if there are other "reliable" ways for a Lightning Vessel Barbarian to get temp HP, for synergy with the Galvanize Claw. Currently there is a synergy with lightning vessel barb and galvanized claw that has a TINY chance to give me an even TINIER amount of temp HP, 3 times per long rest but unlikely. I'm refraining from posting full item descriptions in here, just in case. But I can provide more details if it helps.
TLDR: Lightning vessel barb, no multiclassing. What ways am I not thinking of to potentially give my self temp HP every now and then. It does not need to be alot. Feats. Items. Tattoos. Begging the DM jk.

"We believe that we invent symbols. The truth is that they invent us; we are their creatures, shaped by their hard, defining edges. [. . .] I did not know that then, but it is a profound mistake to believe that we must know of such things to be influenced by them, and in fact to believe so is to believe in the most debased and superstitious kind of magic. [. . .] [R]ational people know that things act of themselves or not at all."
One option is the False Life spell, which can be acquired by any character via the Magic Initiate feat, though you'd only get to do it once per day that way.
The Chef feat also gives you a way to give yourself (or your friends) a small number of temp HP a few times a day through the power of baked goods.
I definitely didn't think about magic initiate. I have considered the idea of the Chef feat though my ability to flavor it (pun not intended) is limited at the moment, by virtue of no creative juices.
