I was running out of room in my starter bag and had the idea to reduce the number of ball bearings in my bag by half, but I’m not sure what the implications are.
According to the description, a full set covers a 10 ft section of the map, so is there a rule that said half that much would cover a 5 ft square, is the full amount required, or is it purely up to DM interpretation?

Ask your DM, but in theory this should be subdividable because its about how many ballbearings you have.
Note that a bag covers a 10'x10' square, so a 1/2 bag should cover a 10'x5' rectangle (half as much area), and 1/4 bag should cover a 5'x5' square.

The Ball Bearings should be up to 10-foot-square area, looks like an omission to me but the DM has final say.

Oh wow! I misread the surface area big time!
Anyway, that makes sense. Thanks!
