I'm playing an armorer artificer and just got some boots of levitation with extended duration and I had the idea of using my infiltrator beams to use as propulsion like Iron Man would this work with the spell if so how fast or what speed should it have?
Rule of cool might let you, but there’s nothing to indicate the lightning you create would have any sort of propulsive force. When a wizard casts lightning bolt, they don’t get knocked back or down or anything like that. And neither does the artificer. If, say, while you were standing still, you had to make a save or be pushed, I could see it, but as it is, it feels like a stretch. That said, if your DM allows it, mog has good answers for the speed. Just be careful of who’s behind you.

Base it on a wind spell. Two options:
Cheap but Slow = 5ft/round = Cantrip: Gust.
Moderate = 15 ft/round = 2nd level Gust of Wind
If you want faster than that then forget about the Levitation and just go with Fly.
