how hard would it be to store a Sabertooth Tiger at a small village or town?
Considering you can maintain telepathic contact with it as long as it's within a mile of you, it wouldn't be hard to keep tabs on it, even if it has to hide somewhere just outside town.

Canto alla vita alla sua bellezza ad ogni sua ferita ogni sua carezza!
I sing to life and to its tragic beauty To pain and to strife, but all that dances through me The rise and the fall, I've lived through it all!
Just go down the list of spells, cross out everything you use on a regular basis. Then ask yourself of those that are left, which one, if I needed it but didn’t have it, could I very likely die without? Circle those. Then decide.
feather fall would be on my short list of circled spells.
i wouldn‘T bother with KEEPING find familiar in the ring- if you can find a wizard to cast it on the ring, it can be cast twice-have a wizard cast it on the ring, summon your familiar and dismiss it so that you can use it whenever- then cast what you want on the ring. The value of keeping find familiar on the ring is way less than familiar+a different spell
Yes, but the Find Familiar can be stored in the pocket dimension... where the Find Steed has to be left alone when you travel to places where they can not go, and they will likely die...
Personally, I think you underestimate the survivability of a 1500lb behemoth with an INT of 6 who can live on grass, run 45 mph, and kick a bandit's head off in one shot, but you clearly want a familiar, so you play your game your way, my man.
The best candidates have been listed. I can see circumstances where Sanctuary might make you a better tank, but probably not many. If you're willing to stick a level 2 spell in there, then once you get up close to a spell caster, hitting them with Silence, leaving your spell casters out of the radius, might be a good trick.
The rest is nice and dandy, but if you can get haste, get it.
Haste on a front line fighter is incredible! But cast by a front line fighter it’s weak because it’s a concentration spell and one failed concentration check and they lose it.
I can do more than one casting... get the Find Familiar, then do the rest... like Find Steed (If I can find a caster to fill the ring ), but I love the Silence while basing the caster.
My party and I just received a Ring of Spell Storing, an item that can store up to 5 levels of spell, and allow the wearer to cast anything stored within.
My party has a 5th lvl Bard, 5th lvl Cleric of Life and 4th lvlRogue/1st lvl Forge Domain Cleric....
I can likely get some one else to cast something in the ring but only rarely as magic is not widely accepted in our world.
Are there any cool tricks, or things that would permanently help me? Find Familiar seems kinda cool, but our DM will not allow non PHB creatures.

45 mph is 66 ft/s or a move spread of 396.
aside from that. The best candidates were not all listed. Very few differentiations of things to do were actually listed. Personally... I see some fun in. Casting summon lesser demon, easy for fighters to gather blood of a recent kill, and in a sphere of silence them and their demon gang brutalizing spellcasters or whatever. cause. Clearly there’s a caster in the group that can cast silence for you in some of these scenarios.
And that’s not including using awaken for the fighter to become a general to a bunch of tree soldiers if he plays his cards right.
or wall of force to create a “go through me” choke point.

I may be wrong, but i think Bards have to chose their spells when they lvl up, wich highly limits the available spells for the ring.
with that in mind:
Shield
Healing Word
Absorb Element
Bless
Sanctuary ( have a look at your Battle maneuvers, some of them can be done without loosing Sanctuary)
Thanks guys... I really love the feel for the Find Familiar as a great addition for a Battle Master.
But there are some GREAT ideas.
Perfect.

no no no,... of course, I fully meant just to summon the familiar and then replace the spell slot.
Free minion-helper, and now ring is empty for new spells... :D

Get Spirit Guardians and Spiritual Weapon from the Cleric. They are level 3 and level 2, which adds up to 5.

Love this grouping.. Spirit Guardians works wonders with BattleMaster keeping them locked down with Sentinel... I hope to use this soon.

oh I wish I had access to a caster who could put some of those spells in my ring...
Summon Lesser Demon could get me into SERIOUS trouble, but Awaken, Wall of Force, etc... Damn good ideas...
Thanks guys, any new thoughts are greatly appreciated.
No problem.
remember even a innocent seeming spell... can do some serious damage/fun if you use it right. (Control winds. Control water)
