I had a lot of fun with a greatsword wielding books hunter before the update. It was a really solid dps build with the addition of the crimson rite from first level. Is this still a good strategy or is dual-wielding better. I'm leaning more towards greatsword still, because it leaves my BA free for using blood maledict and such, but is this incorrect? Am I playing a blood hunter wrong after the update?
One thing to remember is that with applying your Crimson Rite to a second weapon it's another role of your Hemocraft die, which makes you even more of a glass cannon. It's very high-risk, high-reward. I don't think there's any way to play it wrong though.
Also keep in mind that in the old rendition of the bh class using crimson rite would reduce your maximum health points. Now with the new update, it simply removes your health (leaving you open to healing or potions to return your health back to maximum).
You should play the character that is fun for you. If you want your Ghostslayer to wield a greatsword, then they should do that. I think you can be perfectly viable using a crimson rite on your greatsword and taking two attacks per round.

I exist, and I guess so does this

What kind of a blood hunter do you play?

That is what I have figured, prioritize strength and Con second for extra HP to amplify. Use BA for blood curse of the marked and call it a day
