Can you link the build options in your previous post like you did in the Gish post? I’m having a hard time keeping tack of the individual builds to read and vote for.
Nevertheless. I think I'm going to pitch my vote for Slaab the Immortal, the Swamp the Stalks. It's an interesting mix of abilities that produces a character very difficult to defeat, who nevertheless remains threatening enough that you cannot safely ignore it. The Celestial warlock regeneration machines are certainly interesting and the barbarians are excellent contenders, but man. I just love the concept of this ancient monster beast that's eaten the swamp itself and become almost a man-sized Kaiju.
It's quite enjoyable to see all the different days people take these concepts. I would not have expected a predominantly Monk triple class to make for such an interesting and effective take on the criteria, but here we are. Thanks for the excellent reads, everybody.
I'll note that Heqanakthi, Priestess of Osiris, also stood out to me as a great character concept and a really cool idea. Slaab was more in line with the core ideal of overwhelming durability intended with this contest, though. Heqanakthi is an excellent reaper of souls and a fearsome warrior, but being easy to bring back isn't quite the same as not going down in the first place. Sorry, Song.
Atlas gets my vote. Those dual healing cannon coupled with the general utility of the Artificer is just too much.
Slaab gets a second place. Had I actually realized that Fungus Druids are actually published material and not UA I would probably have made one myself. :P
I vote for Atlas. It looks like an interesting character to play, and it looks like a good build at every level. The high AC and constant temporary HP every round is powerful. I especially like the idea of concentrating on Hastewith that character.
The other fun one is Stoneskin at 13th level. With Stoneskin up, Atlas gains the same basic weapon resistance as most of the barbarian entries, barring the Bear Totem sorts. Heh, honestly I'd consider Haste to typically be a better choice, jumping from 25AC to 27AC is just obnoxious for the DM and it solves Atlas' issues with mobility, but for just sheer, utter overkill levels of "FUKK YER DAMAJ DX", Stoneskin is hard to beat.
There are a lot of good builds here, and it's really hard to pick. I mirror Chicken_Champ's thoughts in that a lot of the healing builds have really opened my eyes to the possibilities that lie therein, especially DorkForge's The Wolverine and Bobbybaker's Warlock/Cleric. The two that stand out to me are Yurei's Artificer ATLAS (a class I had not yet even looked at prior to this competition) and Chicken_Champ's Slaab the Immortal (can't think of anyone or anything to wear that title better).
Overall I think the outcome depends on how you interpret the spirit of the competition. For me that's Yurei's ATLAS. Truly an unstoppable force and a wonderfully descriptive build. But I really think everyone who submitted here and took the time to work out an interesting character that fit the description really deserves some recognition. It was a great experience and I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with in the next one.
This has been really hard to narrow it down, but I think I'm going with a bit of the crowd and going in on Slaab the Immortal. Normally I'm not a big fan of builds that rely on so many multiclass dips, but this one has been stuck in my head ever since I read it.
Voting is now closed, the votes will be tallied and the winner announced within the next few hours as I have an errand to run.
And to answer your question BramblefootDruid, the Throwdowns are concurrent, the next one will start within a day of the last one finishing (the restriction mainly being me having the time to make the post).

Hey, is it up yet? I would love to see it, and think of what I will make as quick as possible, so I can TRY to compete with yurei, by having time to think of something good🤣🤣
To be fair, I got my spectral keister pasted in the Ice Meme shorty throwdown. Hueh. Went a little too deep into the weeds for a throwaway 'Ice Breaker' joke. I'm not invincible. Atlas is, but I'm not. :P

So, what builds can't you make? Hoping it will be a spell caster build, cause I love making em.

Bad news for ye, Bramble: I'm an Armored Core/MechWarrior/BattleTech player, a former top-ranked TCG player, a tabletop wargamer, a tac-RPG aficionado, and the sort of gal who'll happily wallow in twelve hundred pages of GURPS source material for days just to get everything to fall out just right. Absolutely nothing in 5e is hard for me :P I just love making characters. Not just builds, but the ideals, personas, and histories behind the crunch. A build is just a framework - it's not a character until it has a name, a face, and a story.
Well, we might as well make you the queen of throwdowns. For someone other than you to make a winning build, they would have to make this a throwup, and make some sickly grung alchemist or spores druid, just to make you give up the title. Either way, this tree ain't giving up (please search up and insert pantheon's theme from League of legends for amazing music).

"I have found the answer to the meaning of life. You ask me what the answer is? You already know what the answer to life is. You fear it more than the strike of a viper, the ravages of disease, the ire of a lover. The answer is always death. But death is a gentle mistress with a sweet embrace, and you owe her a debt of restitution. Life is not a gift, it is a loan."
I'm honestly surprised my build got anywhere near honorable mention status. I just participate to exercise my mind and see if I can make a memorable character.
Well, I think the Bladesinger is worth a mention...
Not very far into the game he gets very crazy AC:
12 (Light Armor) + 5 (Dex) + 5 (Int) + 1 (Two weapon fight feat) + 2 (Haste) is already 25 without any dip, with Shield as possible reaction for a total of 29 when needed. Against non-attack damage, you have the Song of Defence ability to reduce the damage for up to 45 damage per round using spell slots.
If we start multiclassing we can add +1 from defensive fighting style, or we can mix with barbarian or monk for even more crazy defense...
An high elf starting with 15 int, 15 dex and 15 (wis or con) will begin with Dex 17 and int 16, and will get to 20-20-18 in the three stats by 19° assuming normal stat progression, adding a total of +14 stat bonuses to AC.
The best build I can figure out are:
Wiz 8 (BladeSinger) + Monk 4 (Kensai) + Warrior 8 (Cavalier, to force people to attack you and not your mates).
That would get the AC to:
10 + 5 (Dex) + 5 (Wis) + 5 (Int) + 2 (Haste) + 2 (Kensai Agile Parry) = 29 Base AC, 33 with Shield (that is without adding a potential of +4 from bracers of Armor, Ring of Protection and Cloack of Protection). You also get wizard spells up to 4th level to toy with and to adapt to the situations, potentially adding up to your invulnerability with things like counterspell or other defensive feats. You could also swap Haste with Blur to get perma-disadvantage on attacks against you, almost ruling out pesky criticals.
It also play nicely into the Elf Cavalier master of a weapon (kensai) theme, like a Knight of Mith Drannor or similar. You will be almost untouchable and a bunch of foes per round will be marked by your Cavalier feature forcing enemies to waste their attacks on you or face disadvantage attacking others. Your attack power wouldn't also be bad.
Here we trade 2 permanent AC (No Haste in Rage) and the Shield reaction (another potential 4) for resistance to all damage... This is anyway an a lot more wonky build that hasn't much sense outside doing math.
