Wow, lots of Shillelagh and Greenflame Blade in this thread so far. Seems like when Hexblade's aren't allowed, people go for these to focus the most on one ability score. Also, there aren't any Strength or Intelligence focusing builds yet, mostly Dex, Cha, and Wis, with a healthy amount of Con.
I mean, at least one of mine (if I do the planned two) is int based. Very much so. I've gone with something very strange but kind of a classic trope made fun.

Total.... 36d8 + 4d6 + 66 damage ≈ 156 damage and a 10% chance to crit and deal 280 damage. Note, this is WITHOUT THE RIDER DAMAGE which would add another 53, or 99 on a crit. the main weakness is squishyness at low levels, but the nova makes up for it by FAR. Being a pad-sor-lock, you have short rest slots and can smite all the time, you have too many resources to count, a ton of healing, your AC and HP are not that bad (19 or 24 AC with shield, and 189 hp at lvl 20).
Doubtful if you can make the attack needed for the BA GFB. And rider damage isn't doubled on crits. Also you seem to be counting four attacks when using an action surge, depending on if three cantrips/ turn is allowed in this powergaming round, two would be max.
And btw, you forgot to use the boosted stat array. :)
All dice rolls are doubled on crits. I did forget the array, and there is no limit on the number of cantrips in a round per RAW.

So you are doubling it twice, then (bolded text)?
No. Total damage would be 209, INCLUDING rider damage, or 389 INCLUDING rider damage on a crit.
I also updated my build, which is now a tiefling, and grabbing Flames of Phlegethos later on due to the extra feat slot.

I think he’s saying the d8s and d6s from your totals above don’t match up to your attack description above it.
And what is Rider damage? If you mean the splash damage from GFB, it’s not doubled on critical hits, as per Crawford and other links.

Yes, this. If you go by two attacks that you double the dice on for a crit you would have
Action- 1d8 (quarterstaff) + 3d8 (GFB) + 1d6 (hex) + 5d8 (smite) + 17 (charisma x3, duelling) Bonus action (quickened GFB)- 1d8 (quarterstaff) + 3d8 (GFB) + 1d6 (hex) + 5d8 (smite) +17 (charisma x3, duelling) x 2 for a total (18D8 +2D6x2) +17 for each attack. You don't double the charisma and dueling damage on crits.
So that damage of 156 is already crit damage. You wouldn't get to add double the charisma + duelling damage to that. So you'll probably want to clarify your math there.
56 x 3 attacks = 168, so my math was wrong, but too low.
On a crit(s) it would be 69 + 6 + 17 = 82
82 x 3 attacks = 246....ok I was too high.
There are 3 attacks. GFB as an action. Quicken a GFB and action surge GFB.
...and 3 times 9 is 27, not 36, 3 times 17 is 51, not 53. Yeah, that seems to work out. Still a lot of damage. Just make sure you don't go up against anything that is immune to fire. ;)
Would you mind updating your original post as well, please?
I did! and my math IS correct dude. it is 9 x FOUR (the average of 1d8), so it is 36, and I did all of this on a calculator, not in my head at 12 last night (Possibly an error of judgement on my part)

Yeah, Brewsky is on the mark. It's not the average that is the problem, it's the "Total.... 36d8 + 4d6 + 66 damage ≈ 168 damage and a 10% chance to crit and deal 246 damage. Note, this is WITHOUT THE RIDER DAMAGE which would add another 53 damage"- part.
And like Brewsky said, it can be a good build. It will get it's asses wiped by anything that can stay out of range or has 10 levels of Moon Druid, but except for that it's a pretty damn good nova.

Against anything with a decent Dex save and/or Evasion, Firebolt is probably a better bet. Lower base damage but more consistent.

My vote goes to Brewsky's Drakken, knight of the fell wood. Having a lot of actions looks really fun!
