So I was looking at the new fairy 5e UA, and realised that it gives +2 +1/ +1 +1 +1 to ANY ability score, so I've set a new norm when creating a UA character: A fairy barbarian, or a barfarian. link to one I'm using
as in I try and make interesting to roleplay characters now, and the reason I chose fairy was because its not every day you see a 50cm tall screaming winged man with a battleaxe twice his size
I think given the way the bulk of Barbarian paths after the PHB have their rage/magic tied into something more spiritual/mystical than simply berserker blood boiling, I'd reckon fairies make a lot of sense as Barbarians, as the no armor benefits to AC reflect well that Fairies are Fey POWER. The size and weapons thing is a bit off but it's actually a pretty sensible concept that enables Fairy to be play out as something more primal than prissy stereotype.

+2 +1/+1 +1 +1 is the norm for racial bonuses, post-Tasha's. Literally any race is allowed to do that now.
What do you mean by setting a new norm?
