Beginning at 2nd level, you can use soothing music or oration to help revitalize your wounded allies during a short rest. If you or any friendly creatures who can hear your performance regain hit points at the end of the short rest by spending one or more Hit Dice, each of those creatures regains an extra 1d6 hit points.
The new Musician Feat from the Character Origins Playtest has this:
Inspiring Song. As you finish a Short Rest or a Long Rest, you can play a song on a Musical Instrument with which you have Tool Proficiency and give Inspiration* to allies who hear the song. The number of allies you can affect in this way equals your Proficiency Bonus.
My question is this: Can these Songs be the same song during a Short Rest, granting both extra healing to the whole part and Inspiration to some of them? The Bard's Song of Rest doesn't exactly specify when the music needs to start in the Short Rest, but Inspiring Song seems to indicate at the end. Can you combine these two effects together, would you have to play one after the other, or would you have to choose? I know it is playtesting and wording can be changed, but I want to playtest is as it currently is.

Reality is more amazing than we are often led to believe.
Assuming they change absolutely nothing? Sure, they seem to stack. That said, we have no idea if Bards even have Song of Rest anymore so I guess we'll see.
It seems that WotC are moving away from short rest, as it's the only feature of playtest material that even mentions it, and I think it's more of an oversight. All the remade races from MMotM have their abilities usable [proficiency bonus] times per long rest, rather than once between short rests. It's likely to be reworked, IMO.

That seems like a leap. There are rarely features outside of classes that regen on a short rest. Honestly I can't think of any racial abilities that do. There must be a couple but I cannot bring any of them to mind.
Don't make assumptions off extremely limited information, it's just not smart.
I went digging to check and found exactly one racial ability that recharges on a short rest even in the legacy content. Leonins Daunting Roar, so... yeah.

Dragonborn breath weapon. Eladrin fey step. Firbolg magic. Goblin fury of the small. Goliath stone endurance. Hobgoblin saving face. Kobold grovel, cower, and beg. Lizardfolk hungry jaws.
I don't have all the books, so there could be more.
