We'll call it whatever is easiest to google search and talk about.
Like every other thing, it's going to happen organically. We can make up funny guesses all day. But in the end, no one will be able to force it.
I'm not trying to make anything happen. I do enjoy hearing peoples opinions though. It's fun to talk about. D&D has had a major comeback and that's exciting! So why not fantasize...

Oh no, I'm sorry, I didn't mean that towards you, or anyone else. Reading my own post back, it did sound a lot more dour than I intended. It was supposed to be lighthearted.
It was just the line that came to my head when they announced it as One DnD. :)

Everyone is great, please continue!
I laughed pretty hard when I read your post. It summed up my thoughts on "One Dnd" pretty well lol.
Why wouldn't it be called OneDnD? I mean the community might call it something else, but that won't matter for the official name.
The why is because I think WotC has even said OneDnD is the development name, but I might be wrong there. But it's in line that 5e was developed, including released some commercial products under the development title D&D Next. D&D Next became 5e and we're not calling it D&D Next anywhere except some forums that didn't bother changing their names. So the thinking is that "One D&D" is the development title, but it'll be called something else, like maybe just "D&D".
I think they should just troll the D&D and TTRPG community and call it "DnD: The Dragon Game", ;)

Yup. That was the impetus of the question. I love the idea of WOTC trolling, lol. That would be awesome!
