I'm kind of worried about warlocks. They used to have their exclusive spells that made them stand out like eldritch blast, armor of agathys, arms of hadar, the occult stuff that was unaccessible to wizards and the reason warlocks sell their souls and strike deals with eldritch horrors. And now everyone with arcane spellcasting has that stuff. Kinda sucks.

I agree that it's sad to see the flavor diluted that way. But it does bring up an issue I always had with 5e Warlocks. The fact people were willing to sell their souls for a cantrip and some mediocre spells in the first place (though I do have a fondness Armor of Agathys, it's not worth a soul).
I would love to see them lean into the Invocations more. That is a great place for unique flavor. And with better high level options, it might be worth the deal for some people. As the Warlock stands in 5e, I'd rather just go to school and study magic properly. Haha.
I hope Warlocks can start to really live up to the promise in their flavor and powers in 1DnD.

Speak for yourself, I'd love to be a Celestial or Genie Warlock. In the former case, at least I'd be selling my soul to someone who might not torment me for all eternity in the afterlife and I get healing, and in the latter case, I get a house in a can.
Hahaha. Wellllll, you do make some good points. A house in a can is definitely an intriguing offer. No, wait! This is how it happens isn't it! It all makes sense now.... O.O

I don't know what you're talking about. All Lord High Master Efreeti asks for in return for an extradimensional bachelor's pad you bring anywhere with you and an invisible imp to carry it around for you is to sign on the dotted line on this totally innocuous contract.
Well that does sound like it's all above the table. That looks like an official contract after all. There is just one thing still bothering m... wait are those silk pillows in there? I do love silk...

The in-game logic makes total sense, if you aren't smart enough (or rich enough) to learn magic from books or at bardic colleges, then your only option is to sell your soul.

I thought that's what the clergy was for. :D
What they are going to do is have a hierarchy of lists of spells
Three spell lists for the elves
Seven for the Dwarves
and Nine for the Men
Haflings are don't get any themselves but that does not stop them from using them - cheeky buggers
All of this rolls up into one list to rule them all.
