Now, I fully approve of the Aberrant Mind being one of the four subclasses in the UA. I like having at least one psionic themed caster, after all. However, this is a good time for WotC to decide if sorcerers are going to get bonus spells from their subclass or not. The Tasha's subclasses are considered strong for that alone, and it looks like few changes were made to the existing subclasses. Should sorcerer subclasses get bonus spell lists? If yes, I think they all should, if not, I don't think any of them need it, other than maybe one or two (Dragon's Breath, obviously).
On a side note, while I like Draconic Sorcerer and Wild Magic Sorcerer being included, I feel Shadow Sorcerer or Divine Soul would have been more appropriate for the fourth choice. What do you think?
Not only do I agree that i think it should have been divine soul and shadow, I also think the warlock should have been undead so that the overlap between warlock and sorc is less.
Did anyone else notice sorcerous burst got buffed?
Yeah I saw it went to a d8, less of a trap but I'm sure someone more mathematically inclined will run the numbers and I strongly expect firebolt to still deal more damage.
But at least now it's not sheer punishment to use it if you want the flavor of it

Numbers wise it was better as a d6, because the additional dice was more likely to go off. 2d4 would have made it the best cantrip ever.

Yes firebolt does more damage by about .4 per die. But this has the benefit of choosing damage type without sculpt spell. Being the second best damage while being able to pick the damage type is pretty good.

I actually preferred the d6. Meant that the special roll an additional dice ability would happen more often.
