I thought I saw that the UA PHB Playtest 6 version of the life domain cleric did away with the maximizing of goodberry healing - is that correct? If so, could someone help me understand how/why?
Your healing spells are empowered by life itself. When a spell you cast with a spell slot restores Hit Points to a creature, that creature regains additional Hit Points on the turn you cast the spell. The additional Hit Points equal 2 plus the spell slot’s level.
Adding "on the turn you cast the spell" terminates some pretty powerful combos, including goodberry.

Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

So have everyone in the party stand next to you and use their reaction to eat a berry soon as you cast the spell. Their reactions would happen on your turn. Lol

Ah, thanks. I missed that specific phrase's import.
