They should have done it for this UA7 considering Warlock gets access to Feats via invocations. Some Feats that were said to be level 1 feats need to be changed. Last UA that mentioned Magic Initiate had it working with the 3 spell list that no longer exist. UA Magic initiate is far superior to 2014 Magic Initiate. Is spell sniper a feat with no prerequisite like 2014 or is it a 4th level feat thus giving a +1. What’s going on with the fighting style feats. This UA really should have had feats update in it, but now I’m really hoping UA 8 has updates.
I would like too see a UA without classes but just for spells and feats. The class updates in last few UAs have been lackluster. Barely more than could be redressed by a few erretas.
Agreed. Like I'm reasonably sure that the feat list for the UA7 Warlock includes all the heritage feats from level 1 plus Lighly Armored, but just to make sure..
You get a level 1 feat based on you background, which may be something like Skilled, Savage Attacker, Lucky, etc. Humans get a bonus level 1 feat. So far these feats include all of those listed in the Character Origins (UA1) and only Lightly Armored (UA2) from the other playtest materials.
Another set of feats called Fighting Styles may be selected at level 1. In UA 2 these required a level in a Warrior class group, as of UA 6 these now require that a class gets a "Fighting Style Feature" which the Fighter gets at 1, Ranger and Paladin get at 2, and the Barbarian and Monk gain never.
All feats that grant +1 ability score have a minimum level of 4, and all of them grant an additional feature(s) alongside the +1 ASI.

I doubt an errata could have fixed Berserker Barbarian or added in Weapon Masteries. Actually that would make a good topic of discussion itself. What changes are big enough to merit 5eR so far that could not just have been handled with an errata.
I hope Magic Initiate let’s you select any 1st level spell, any 2 cantrips, use any spell slots you have, and lets you pick the spell-casting stat(Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma).
Like you can select bless, Produce Flame, and Vicious Mockery as the spell and use intelligence for the DC/attack modifier.
I think it needs to be remembered that this is a playtest and not the 2024 PHB itself. We can pretty well extrapolate i feel like. The big change besides spell lists to magic initiate was the ability to cast the first level spells with the spells slots you have... we are probably keeping that. Because they want you to be able to take it multiple times it is probably returning to the "pick a class" aspect that it had. Feats were well received, first level feats were well received. So from what they have said they are likely staying in a similar state to what we already saw.
Even then we can expect to see some changes probably hit the books that weren't in the play test.

Indeed. It feels like they are mostly just reprinting the same stuff to sell another set of books.

Sound about right to everyone so far?

I feel next UA needs a MASTER LIST of Feats and update them.
It’d also be handy for playtesting if they produced a list of the non-PHB feats and flagged the pre-requisites for each one.
