Now here is a question. I am playing a changeling and I'm not entirely sure what limitations are in place for shape-changer. I understand that i can change my shape into whatever i want provided my base shape is the same. however I'm interested specifically in the Beastly Forms, in regard to what i can change into. can i change into any creature I've seen the likeness of or simply whats limited to the wild shape effect for druids. if you can answer my question that would be fantastic. also my apologies if there is already a changeling thread i just couldn't find it
Shapechanger. As an action, you can polymorph into any humanoidof your size that you have seen, or back into your true form. However, your equipment does not change with you. If you die, you revert to your natural appearance.
So if the creature you are trying to mimic doesn't have the humanoid enemy type I would argue against your ability to mimic it.

I believe it specifies humanoid shapes:
