I always liked the idea/aesthetic behind the seeker warlock, but I haven't really seen it discussed much anywhere. Has anyone ever played one? It sounded like it would make for a decent bladelock build with good defensive capabilities. I have an npc of one in the game I run now but she hasn't seen much action and is more geared towards travel/exploration/information-gathering anyways.
I have been meaning to play one for a while, I don’t think it’s to op, I mean yes the abilities are quite powerful but it’s built for utilities and tank. The final ability is just cool if you ask me, not quite useful unless you have a bard but still insanely cool. Your chillin in undermountain before the next room and you decide to go to the astral plane. That’s cool.
honestly wish this was in xanathar, one of the only pre XGtE unearthed arcana I allow at my table.
Your first ability is a bit op, but again I think that the 6th level ability isn’t that op. The warlock has so few spell slots you can only do it when you know it will work, plus concentration is still a thing, which makes it balanced. The 10th level ability is cool in the sense you get 2 free damage resistances, and yes Aasimar Seeker at this level has 4 resistances. But tiefling storm sorcerer with flames of phleghethos has 5 at level 6.
Overall it ain’t that op, it’s like the storm sorcerer where you get a ton of powerful yet situational abilities that’s up to how you use them.
I have gotten some advice myself for building a Seekerlock from Reddit! You should anlways use astral refuge as a held action instead of spells, since it doesn’t use resources and you can get the specific spells you need in a situation. Armor of Agathys and Blade Ward are both a good spell combo that you can use with astral refuge, because you have a more durable armor of agathys that can potentially deal more damage! I also think that Seekerlock is a very good frontline caster, so I would personally take 2 levels in Teilight Cleric to get Twilight Sanctuary which would help other frontliners a lot, and more spell slots, along with some of the useful cleric utility spells. Far wanderer is also just a good ability to have up your sleeve, as it allows you to take even more damage! Astral Sequestration is a nice ability that gives a 5 minute short rest which can be great for saving time in game, and can also offer enough time to allow roleplay. I haven’t even played Seekerlock yet, but I already know all about it!

What’s a seeker warlock?
Extended Signature! Yay! https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/off-topic/adohands-kitchen/3153-extended-signature-thread?page=2#c21
Haven’t used this account in forever. Still a big fan of crawling claws.
From a 2016 UA article.
Unfortunately, OP, I haven't played or seen it played!

It’s a UA warlock subclass.
What source has this Sub-Class of Warlock? I've been looking everywhere for it on this site.
An instant short rest once per day? Now that's truly an ultimate warlock feature.
