Far from civilisation lies a mansion for those who are not merely mortal - spirits, possessing those wanderers who found themselves lost in the deep forests that housed the manor. Many ghosts found their way to this house, and many passed onto the afterlife. The leader of all this - A man who lived and died in this mansion long before any other - brought all these spirits together. Leaving would be impossible - the energy of the house was the only thing that kept the ghosts from passing on.
But today, you all enter the living room to find your leader, lying next to a bible. His head has been bashed in, and blood in addition to some black substance is dripping out of his mouth. Scrawled next to him in his blood is his last message - “Trust no one”.
It’s finally up! Day lasts 48 hours, everyone can vote for one person by saying VOTE: [PERSON] or skip the vote by saying VOTE: SKIP VOTE. The person or option with the most votes is chosen at the end of the day, regardless of how many people actually voted. For example, if 8 different people all have 1 vote, but a ninth has 2, then the ninth is sacrificed. Night lasts 24 hours, and the main thread is shut down, no talking about the game. People with roles communicate with me/their teammates in PMs and perform night actions depending on their specific role.
Roles:
Innocent:
Lost spirit(Regular townie); no special abilities
Mechho Bhoot(Muffin man); Previously a fisherman, can give fish to any person unless they’re dead in the night period. If the person dies, no fish sad :(
White lady(Witness); having experienced many sources of grief in her life, has a premonition to tragedy. At the beginning of the game is given the names of 3 people, of whom one of which is a mafia. When the detective checks their role, they come up as a regular townie.
La Llorona(Detective); Known for their wisdom and ability to detect grief, this murder has encouraged them to investigate the others. Every night, they can investigate one person, and find if they’re guilty or innocent(neutral are counted as guilty)
Guardian Angel(Doctor); Powerful, loving spirit who has taken to protecting themselves and others. Once per night, you can choose one person, including yourself. That person, if attacked, will not die.
Soulmates(Lovers); Two people are chosen at the beginning of the game. These people are twinned souls, meaning that if one of them dies, the other one dies too.
Onryō(Vigilante); A vengeful spirit whose death was associated with ghost hunters, encouraging them to take drastic measures. Each night, you can kill a specific person and possibly kill a mafia. If you kill a townsfolk, your revenge is overpowered by grief(become a regular spirit)
Poltergeist(Jailer); Can block a person in their room by barricading their door with objects. Doing this will prevent the person from performing any night’s actions, including the night’s kill.
Neutral:
Banshee(Jester); Doesn’t want their new body to be taken away. Upon being voted out, will wail in grief, taking half the total town with them to the afterlife. If this ends the game, the banshee wins.
Wendigo(Arsonist); a Wendigo attempting to regain its powers. Each night, you can choose to carve a hidden symbol in someone’s room. If everyone alive has a symbol on their room, the wendigo wins.
Mafia:
Exorcist(Mafia goon); Eligible for the night’s kill
Weaver(consort); Maker of dreamcatchers, now changing their methods to help out the exorcists. Only eligible for the night’s kill if all other mafia are dead. Can place ‘ghostcatchers’ to unblock doors, or alternatively block them regardless of if they’re already open. Each night you can choose one person to block in their cabin. They cannot perform night actions if they have any.
Psychic(Mafia detective); Eligible for the night’s kill. Can, alternatively(cannot also do the night’s kill) call upon the spirits to learn someone’s role.
Warlock(Witch); Eligible for the night’s kill, but only if all other mafia are dead alternatively(cannot also do the night’s kill) call upon their patron to confuse someone. Choose one person and make their power, if used, occur to someone else. If the person has no power or doesn’t use their power, this fails. The witch doesn’t know if this works or fails. You cannot choose the same person two night’s in a row.
