I've come up with a "One Shot" for my sons and nephews to keep their minds flowing during Covid but need some help with continuing with the story line after the one shot. The "One Shot" idea came from the "shot" they did, on Critical Roll, between campaigns one and two, where the companions from campaign one battled each other with the electrified buildings and towers. EXCEPT, the characters are all level 20 Genasi (each one of the different elemental constructs) competing against each other (think, Mortal Combat style) for their chance to survive and meet their father / mother which will reset them (whatever they wish) their level 1 character, to build a (whatever) campaign. I know this is broad, but I will need to have ideas to broaden this "mortal combat" victory into a foresight of reality. Keep in mind that the "losers" of the one shot will have NO MEMORY (and will create characters of their own volition, as well as the "Victor" who will create their own character) with the memories of the "Victory", but will need some help along the way. I just need ideas that may include other family members that may not be inclined, to join. I want to create a family atmosphere. I know this is all imaginary, but THEY don't. My ULTIMATE goal is to have bystanders say, "Hey, I can play a role" or ROLL as the case maybe...LOL Thank you all for the feedback, I will take any suggestions into account.
Just to recap: the premisse is a mortal combat (operative word mortal, as in only the victor survives) tournament, the prize of which is getting to meet your parent(s) which will result in being transformed to a 1st level character, and you want the ensuing campaign to have a family atmosphere? Just saying, that's a bit of a grim start of the proceedings for some family-friendly fun. What exactly does "I know this is all imaginary but they don't" mean?

Maybe have one of your family members control a high CR monster that interrupts their tournament and forces the competitors to work together?
