I’m trying to create a Longbow that does fire damage instead of its normal damage. I get you need to use existing weapon as a base but how do I change the default damage it does ?
As far as I'm aware there isn't currently an effective way to do this in terms of 'replacement' of damage. I'd say your closest option would be adding it as bonus damage like on the likes of the Flametongue weapon. Or just note in the weapons description it in fact does fire damage and have it be fire damage in the realms of your game regardless of what damage type it appears as in DDB given the rolls will still operate identically anyway.

Ie the normal longbow does 1d8 piercing
I want my fire bow to do 1d8 fire damage
